Bookings live on your machine. Calendar access is optional and read-only: the app sees event titles and times, nothing else, and never sends them anywhere.

No. The window is click-through everywhere except the charm itself, and even that you can send behind your windows on Mac. It never steals focus.
Only event titles and start times, read-only, on your machine. It uses them to offer "bless this?" before events. Nothing is uploaded, ever. You can skip calendar access entirely and book moments by hand.
